Winter in Yellowstone is magical. When we visited the national park at the end of January the temperatures were well below zero, one day even minus 30 degrees Celsius! A paradise for a photographer: morning mist, low sun, steam from the geysers, various forms created by a combination of steam, frost, snow and trees. And there are animals searching for food. We saw bison, coyote, foxes, elk in wild as well as many birds, ravens are quite common, but we were also lucky to see an american Bald Eagle. We also saw wolves and grizzly bears in the "Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Centre" in West Yellowstone.
